Advertiser
Q: What is the cost to advertise?
A: The basic cost to advertise a single ad is: $450. A variety of
discounted advertising packages are available to meet any need.
Q:
Can we pay by check?
A: Yes, we accept checks, Visa, Master Card & American Express.
Purchase orders are ok too.

The system is
setup to make paying by credit card very easy, however, we know
that many customers prefer to receive an invoice and pay by check..
Follow the instructions to advertise your ad, then when you are
asked how you'd like to pay, just choose "pay
by check". You'll receive your invoice as usual,
by email or mail.
Q:
Are there limits on word count?
A: No, More is always better when it comes to providing specifics
about a career opportunity. Detailed information provides prospective
candidates the ability to tailor their application materials to
the opportunity of determine they are either not interested or qualified
for the opportunity. The goal is to neither waste your time nor
theirs.
Q:
Can we include our logo?
A: Yes. Feel free to include a logo.
Q:
Can we reach only local candidates? (We can not pay
travel or relocation expenses)
A: Yes! The process of advertising includes selecting where the
opportunity is located. Only candidates who have specified that
location and meet your other qualification criteria will receive
the ad. Secondly, it is important to state in the ad that travel
and relocation reimbursement is not available, since the ad is also
available on the web where anyone may view it.
Q:
What happens to an ad once it is submitted?
A: It is processed through our system which means it is emailed
to all registered candidates who meet the minimum qualifications
(i.e. education, experience, focus, etc &) and have selected
preferences (i.e. location, work setting, etc &) matching the
characteristics of the opportunity. Secondly, the ad is immediately
available online for anyone registered or visitor to view and apply
for. *To ensure integrity and provide quality control,
new customers may experience a slight one-time delay in processing.
Before ads are processed or appear on the web, the employer registration
information must be approved. During normal business hours (ET),
this step may occur with little or no delay in processing. Once
a customer has been approved, all advertising from that point, will
be processed real-time!
Q:
Can we view the resumes of registered candidates?
A: No, we do not store resumes, nor do we encourage candidates to
make a generic resume available on the web anywhere. We believe
it is both a security risk and does not best represent a potential
candidate. We encourage candidates to prepare their resume in response
to a specific opportunity. Employers recognize that a candidate
who takes the time to prepare a resume in response to an ad is demonstrating
active participation in their career.
Q:
How soon may we expect to begin receiving responses to our ad?
A: Typically, resumes begin to arrive in less than 24 hours. Many
customers report response times in as little as two. A few times,
we've been told 5 minutes. Of course, response times may vary with
the potential to break our standing 5 minute record!
Q:
With an average of 12k+ registered candidates, will we be flooded
with resumes?
A: Not likely. Ads that have been written well, with detailed information
on the opportunity, are less likely to generate resume blasts than
a brief, vague ad without enough detail for candidates to discern
their suitability or interest.
Q:
How long do ads remain active?
A: Typically, job ads remain active for 8 weeks. Internships and
graduate program ads are active for 12 months. Employers may login
to their account to manage their ads at any time. For customers
who have ongoing staff needs, the option to store ads as templates
for future use provides added convenience.

Candidates
Q: Who will see my profile?
A: Just us. We do not provide candidate data to anyone for any
reason. (Period)!
Q:
Can I submit my resume to hpcareer.net?
A: No, we maintain only candidate email addresses and preferences.
Resumes should be prepared and maintained on a pc or portable storage
device for ready access when a great career opportunity is delivered.
An employer can get a more accurate picture of a candidate from
a resume that has been prepared in response to an opportunity of
interest. Additionally, a candidate who takes the time to prepare
a resume in response to an ad is demonstrating active participation
in their career.
Q:
How many career opportunities will I receive if I register?
A: That's very difficult to anticipate. Entry level candidates who
are willing/able to relocate typically receive the largest number
of opportunities. A candidate who is tied to a location, but has
the expertise to do a variety of things may receive somewhat fewer
opportunities. Finally, a senior level professional may receive
the fewest opportunities for a variety of reasons including the
decreased number of opportunities available at a senior level. It
is important to remember that candidates may login to edit or update
preferences at any time to broaden or narrow preferences.
Q:
Why register when all ads may be seen online?
A: Candidates register for a variety of reasons. For those who are
actively pursuing new career opportunities, registering ensures
that an opportunity matching preferences and qualifications will
not be missed!
Q:
I'm not actively looking, but want to keep an eye out for a "once-in-a-lifetime"
opportunity, should I register?
A: Probably not. After all, who needs more email. If not actively
looking, then emailed opportunities probably make no sense. We encourage
potential candidates who find themselves "on the fence"
or really only interested in industry trends, to bookmark our website.
However, we know that many faculty members register to further disseminate
ads to alumni and students. So, it's your call.
